Take a deposit or a part payment
Record part of the money against a booking before the service, and razza takes it off the total at checkout.
Watch how it is done
- Open the booking and select Record deposit/payment.
- Pick the Channel and enter the amount received.
- Select Save.
What changes
Section titled “What changes”Amount paid and Balance due update on the booking. A part payment you record shows in the payment list as Deposit when it is the first money taken before checkout, and as Payment otherwise. At checkout the money appears under Already paid, and razza asks only for the rest.
razza issues an advance-payment invoice as soon as you record a deposit, unless you took it from a gift card, and the final invoice at checkout deducts it. razza also notifies the owners, and the team members serving the booking who can see prices, of the amount received.
Limits
Section titled “Limits”razza refuses an amount larger than the balance due. If the amount covers that balance in full, razza takes you straight to Checkout to close the booking.
The button is not there on a cancelled or no-show booking, or once everything paid on the booking has been handed back or refunded. A booking already checked out keeps it while money is still owed, even after a refund.
Without permission to see prices, you can still record the money you received, but razza hides the booking’s amounts from you, and does not open Checkout even when your payment covers the whole balance. Open it yourself.
Collecting the rest
Section titled “Collecting the rest”A booking can be closed out with money still owed, by choosing Check out on account (BNPL) at checkout. The button then reads Record payment, which is how you collect the rest later. Until you do, razza shows the booking on the calendar, in the bookings list and on the booking page as BNPL, not as paid. Once the balance is paid in full, razza completes any service your team has not completed yet and moves the booking to Checked Out.
When the customer is not with you
Section titled “When the customer is not with you”A deposit here is money you have already received. To have the customer pay online instead, select Send a payment link on the same booking. Amount to collect starts at the whole balance due; enter less to ask for a deposit. The option appears only if your business takes payments online, and only for you and team members you have given both Can manage payments and Can view prices. On a booking with a service priced Starting From, it appears once you confirm the agreed price with Confirm price.
If you record money after sending a link and the balance due falls below what the link asks for, the link stops working. Send a new one for what is left.
If the booking is cancelled or a no-show
Section titled “If the booking is cancelled or a no-show”A deposit recorded here stays on the booking, and razza does not return it, unless it was paid with a gift card and the booking is cancelled. Your When a customer cancels setting, and your answer to Who cancelled?, apply only to what the customer paid on the booking site and to gift card money, wherever it was taken. See Pay with a gift card. A deposit taken through a payment link always goes back to the card when the booking is cancelled.
Handing money back is final: afterwards the booking cannot be reinstated. To give the money back, return it the way it was paid, then record it: select the circular arrow on the deposit’s line in the payment list, and confirm with Hand back cash. For a gift card deposit, confirm with Return to gift card instead. Only you and team members you have given both Can manage payments and Can view prices can do this.
A booking already taken through Checkout works differently: see cancelling a booking.
