Sort inventory into categories

category categories section sections colour color label internal use retail

Categories split your inventory into sections, such as products you sell, nails and lashes. Each category shows in a colour you choose on Stock and Catalog cards, so you can tell an item’s section at a glance.

The owner adds and edits categories, and so do team members with the Can manage inventory permission. The colours and filters show to everyone who opens Inventory.

  1. Open Inventory, then Catalog, and select Categories (the folder icon on a phone).
  2. Enter the Name and Arabic name, and pick a Color.
  3. Select Add category.
  4. Select Edit product on a product, choose its Category, and select Save.

Choose the category from All categories on Stock or Catalog to list only its items. On Stock, this filter appears while you have at least one category.

If product sales is on for your business, a second filter offers Sold to customers and Internal use. A product is for sale when you tick Sold to customers on it; anything else is for internal use and never shows on the sale screen. The two filters combine, so you can list, for example, the products you sell in one category.

Select the pencil next to the category in Categories, pick another colour, and select Save. razza suggests a colour for each new category, preferring one your current categories don’t use, and you can change it any time.

When you select the bin, razza asks first and says how many active products the category holds. If you select Remove, all its products become Uncategorized and stay in your inventory with their quantities.

The removed category stays in the list, faded, with a Restore button to bring it back. Adding a category whose Name matches it, in capitals or not, brings it back too; the Arabic name does not count. razza does not move its products back, so choose the category for each product again.
