Sold gift cards
Every gift card a customer buys on your booking site appears in Gift cards, with its balance, its delivery and everything spent from it. Cards are only ever bought online, so you cannot sell one at the counter or give one away for free, and nobody can add to or take from a card’s balance by hand. A balance changes only when the card pays for a booking, when booking money goes back on it, when it expires, when you extend an expired card, or when razza refunds and cancels it.
To see what customers go through to buy a card, and how it reaches the recipient, see How customers buy a gift card.
Watch how it is done
- Open Gift cards, then Overview.
- Under Sold cards, search by card number, the last 4 of the code, or the recipient’s name or mobile.
- Select the card to see its balance, validity, delivery and History.
Search also finds the name the card is from, but not the buyer’s own mobile number, so a buyer who sent a card to someone else is found by the recipient’s details. The list also shows purchases whose payment failed, as Payment failed.
What you can do with a card
Section titled “What you can do with a card”- Resend sends the card to the recipient again, by WhatsApp and by email if it has one. On a card scheduled for a later date, it sends it now, ahead of the buyer’s date. It is not offered once a card has expired or been refunded.
- Fix recipient corrects the recipient’s name, mobile number or email until razza has sent the card. A team member who cannot see customers’ contact details can correct only the name. A card sent right away goes out moments after payment, even to a mistyped number, so this is mainly for a card scheduled for later or one razza could not send. After fixing one that could not be sent, select Resend.
- Extend validity moves the expiry to a later date. On a card that has already expired, it also brings back the balance that expiry removed.
Nobody on your team sees a card’s full code: only the recipient does. A card that runs out shows Used up until its expiry date, and every card past its date shows Expired. Once a card has been sent, razza reminds the recipient about 14 days before it expires if there is still money on it, and again before the new date if you extend it. The card stops working at its expiry, and razza removes what is left that night.
Can I refund a gift card?
Section titled “Can I refund a gift card?”No. Gift cards are non-refundable, and buyers are told so before they pay. There is no way in razza to refund a card, cancel it or change its balance by hand. If a card was bought by mistake, nothing has been spent from it and it has not expired, contact razza: razza can refund the buyer from your online payments account and cancel the card.
Where the money shows
Section titled “Where the money shows”On Overview, Sold, Spent on bookings and Expired unused count all time, and Unspent balance is what your live cards hold now.
razza issues the card’s invoice when it is paid for, as Issued (tax-exempt) if your business is exempt from VAT. It appears in Invoices under your main branch, and only the owner sees it. Card sales are not part of Reconciliation. What customers spend from cards on bookings shows there as Gift cards spent, outside the totals.
